Please help me get my canopy from Raidentech...

Norman at Raidentech want me to post both sides of the conversation we had in replaceing my damaged canopy.
Briefly,
I bought a Cessna 421 thru my hobby shop. It came in damaged. Crushed canopy and frame work that supports the canopy. Hobby shop ordered a new one. About a month latter a plastic shell that resembles the canopy was shipped. "This thing is junk" No where near the size of fitting. Besides I don't have a frame to mount it to.
The hobby shop tried to order a COMPLETE canopy. Norman said I sent him one. This is where I step in.
I contacted Norman at Raidentech, even talked to him on the phone. AND I SENT HIM A PICTURE OF WHAT A FINISHED CANOPY SHOULD LOOK LIKE
This is what I wrote:

I just spoke with you on the phone March 8th
Can you please open a kit of the Cessna 421 and send me the complete canopy. The plywood frame and the plastic canopy FINISHED…
I am asking for it to be finished so when I receive it, I just have to mount it to the plane.
I already had this plane a month with the crushed canopy from shipping and I would like to get this plane in the air soon……
His response was., I will send it out right away
He sent me this

After 1 1/2 weeks......Nothing
I contacted him And he replied
It was shipped by first class mail on 3/9/2010 . no tracking number you should get it by now at
440 4-1/2mile rd Racine WI 53402.
Does your address accept first class mail ? if you still don't have it please email me back.

HE SENT THE WRONG CANOPY AGAIN
His response was
Ok you can keep the canopy but for the frame i suggest you make your own frame from balsa wood ya know this is a hobby and i am sure you can find a way.

The reason I steppedi is because he won't even send the right canopy to my hobby shop.......
Now what I am asking..... Do any of you think I'm wrong not accepting this "Unfinished junky canopy"??? The model I bought was a ARF... BRAND NEW IN THE BOX Not reconditioned or open box..
ALL I AM ASKING IS I WANT A COMPLETE FINISHED CANOPY FOR MY BRAND NEW MODEL
MMMM Wondering,, If if it was shipped with a hole in the covering in a wing.... "Would he send me a patch and tell me to fix it"????????

Yes, the hobby shop. THE HOBBY SHOP sold you a defective kit. THE HOBBY SHOP is ultimately responsible.
THE HOBBY SHOP asked RT for a new canopy so they could give it to YOU. YOU did not get one from THE HOBBY SHOP.
THE HOBBY SHOP still owes you a good canopy for the plane you bought from THEM.
If THE HOBBY SHOP cannot get one from RT, then THE HOBBY SHOP needs to make it up to you somehow and if THE HOBBY SHOP cannot get satisfaction from their supplier, they should stop doing business with them.

You should have taken the entire plane back to the HS when you discovered the error. They can return it and get credit applied to their account. I've seen this many many times. If the HS wont replace the entire plane I'd take my business elsewhere.

I will agree with MinnFlyer. You are the hobby shop's customer. Seems it would be in his best interests to simply replace the kit with a good one, if he can't make that one right. (HE) owes you a good kit, somehow. The beef would then be with him and his wholesaler to recoup his loss.
Although I"m disappointed in Raidentech attitude, I'm not surprised. The retailer can bring more pressure to bear on this wholesaler legally, then you can.

Your right guys
I been dealing with this hobby shoy for better than 30 years. The owner and employees are friends.
Upon opening the box when I got home I found the damaged canopy. Reading other post on the cessna 421, quite a few are damaged in shipping.
I called my hobby shop and NO PROBLEM Ordered a new one. Raidentech will NOT send the complete canopy with the frame...
SO now my hobby shop can't get me a new canopy and will not deal with Raidentech anymore.
As I said, it took a month to get a so called canopy shell. In the mean time I build the entire model with intentions of getting a new canopy. Thats why I didn't return it.
I have no beef with my local hobby shop. They did all they could do......
Raidentech could just send a new one and end this. Simple

I can't completely agree. IMO, your hobby shop should have replaced the kit, built or otherwise, when they realized they couldn't make it right. Or just returned your money. Tough call though. This plane is on Fee Bay all the time. You could check there and maybe pick up a whole plane for plenty of spar parts. A friend has one and he loves it.
