Default Wh300

I flew my new 300 today -
very nice flyer and fully capable of all the IMAC stuff
I only had time for one flight -it was noon and over 100 degrees so one was enough . (sh--!)
I will do a full rundown later on it but the quick version is this:
weight 26.25 lbs - accurate weight.
engine ZDZ80 on tuned can - 26x12 MenzS clipped to 25 "
Balanced exactly on centre of wing spar. (tube)
wing loading is under 30 oz ft ---
power loading is good for all but double upline snaps with solid recovery -a bit soft for my tastes
It is extremely easy to fly .
The only mods I did were to lighten the tail group.
I pulled out less than 8 ounces -and that took some work!
I did that so I could use the light engine without having to add ballast up front.
This plane is really looks larger all assembled than I thought it would .
If you opt for a 100 DA or 3W etc - it should work as is balance wise.
I will probably try a 100 -just to see comparison.
for you 3D wannabees - I tried hovers and a torque roll - and it had easy power management for that -
This week end when the weather is cooler in the mornings - I will see how the rest of the stuff works -
I don't like 105 degree flying weather--

Default tail group

Hey Dick, I've also got one and will use the BME 105 (will be the Extreme whenever they get here!) I'm REALLY interested in what you did to lighten the tail. Only thing is that mine must retain the removeable stab. I'm almost at the point of balancing mine, and from what I've heard, it will probably be tail heavy, even with rudder pull-pull.

Glad to hear it flies well (you're a trooper, getting out in 100 degree heat!).
