Default Peakmodel Sbach 342 Quality and service

Almost a year ago I purchased a Peakmodel YAK 54 (25%) and this plane is awesome, flies like nothing else I have ever flown.

So when Peakmodel came up with a 30% Sbach, I must have been one of the first to order. After waiting 5-6 weeks my new model finally arrived.....and big disappointment: The shipment box was broken.

When I opened the box, the first thing that came to my mind was the very poor packaging, not similar to the professional packaging when I received my YAK 54, more like when I have unpacked an airplane and tries to get back into the box, if you know what I mean.

After a close inspection, I found that the right wing was broken, the rudder was broken and the left wing aileron has a hole in the covering. There was a few other minor damages, but these could be fixed.

I immediately emailed Peakmodels, stated what was wrong, and now my real trouble began:

After sending photos of the damages, it took Peakmodels almost three weeks to answer my mails, and the just responded: We will send some covering materials!

I complained and after a few weeks of discussions, I got the message that they had send me a new wing and some covering material. I was quite disappointed, they did not offer to send a new rudder or aileron, but the wing was the most important part, so I settled for that.

When I received the new wing, I discovered it was 8mm. shorter than the old wing and there was 6 holes for aileron hinges and the old one had 7 holes in totally different positions.

The result: The aileron is 6-7mm. to long for the new wing, I will have to remove the covering material on order to close the holes and make reinforcement of the new hinge holes and I will have to cut of 6-7mm. of the aileron.

And when all that’s done, I have a USD599,00 airplane with different size wings and repairs all over.

Once again I complained to Pealmodels and they answered that "all parts are adjusted to one plane, so dont expect spare parts to fit"

I have offered to send the plane back for either a refund or a new plane, and I have offered to buy a new plane with a discount, but without any reaction.

I have asked them twice if that’s their final standpoint, but they don’t reply to my mails anymore.

SO if you buy a Peakmodel, pray that it arrives in one piece and that you don’t damage it, because if that happens, you seem to be lost.

I can off course document all of the above with pictures and mail correspondence.

<div>Hope you get done better Anders.... i placed an order from peakmodel about 2 months ago, i always used aerorowks and 3dhobby shop, i was a bit scare about it. After i dealed with Jincent i really felt safe and at this time im still happy, got my airplane 4 days later i place my order, checked everything and also email him about a few questions that i have, he replied really fast and good. Better than "other" big manufacturers who took a month to resolve a matter with one of my airplanes....that was involved in a crash due a manufacturer build process mistake.</div><div></div><div>Anyway, this is my experience and def. will buy again another peak model due the service and quality involved with my Sbach 30cc. No way is this acceptable. I would dispute it with the credit card company, and you'll either get your money back, or at least their attention. You have done what you can as the consumer to let them correct the problem. You've exercised patience and understanding being that these things sometimes happen. However, there is no way that I would spend $600 and then have to make repairs. Just not happening!

It amzing how this forum works!

Just got a mail from Peakmodels (the boss), that I can chose from a new plane at ½ price or get a refund without sending the old one back. (But I must destroy it which my modelflyin heart cant bear.

So now I have ordred a new plane and cant wait to get it.

This is great news from Peakmodels.

Thats great to hear Anders, but i DONTTHINK they made that just because YOU posted on the forums......Peak Model are amazing company to deal with and for sure they always stay behind of their product. Sometimes takes time to get back some information from the owner/costumer service.... Iwaited 2 months!!!! for a company that almost 80% of the people on this forum has an airplane from them.

Hope you can post pics later of the new toy!!!

Hi Guys,

Seems that I shared my happiness with you a bit too early:

I have now been asking for the link where I could by a new model at half price (as agreed with the manager of Peakmodels) around 6 times during a period of 7 weeks, I still didn’t get any answers from Peakmodels.

Then I wrote to them, that I would take legal action if I didn’t hear from them, I received a mail that they would refund my money if I destroyed the old plane.

I answered that I could not destroy the old plane since I have sold it to member of my club since I believed I would get a new one, and that I wanted to buy the new plane as agreed.

Now Peakmodels has sent me same answer 4 times and so we are not getting anywhere and I will properly have to take legal action towards them.

I CANT WARN YOU ENOUGH AGAINST THIS COMPANY!!!!!

They have really god airplanes, but if something goes wrong they don’t give damn about you and they will cheat you if they can.

I have been mailing with another person who is in the same situation as me: His plane was damaged when he received it and they do NOTHING, not even reply to mails.

I just received notice of a credit on my card for the full amount I paid for a plane from them. Not going to bore everyone with the details. Lesson learned here. It took a while to resolve, but at least it wasn't an expensive one.
