very 1st post RVATOR

Has anyone tried the new Twist 3D yet? We were looking for something for to put Suitcase's engine and radio in and retire his Spad Deb. It had an OS 46 FX with a Tower muffler.

2nd Diablokid

I am curious about this plane as well. For $99 seems like a decent deal!

3rd one made me laugh BentGear

Good luck on finding one, don't think they have shipped yet.

I think we owe Alot of thanks to these starters of the T_ _ _ T Thread

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still on the board catching up every day. Good to see everyone still going strong, and it's great to see so many new people still entering the world of the T___T. (Just for you, DT) I still fly my twist every single outing and haven't found the same love for a plane since purchasing mine so long ago. All my other planes fight to see who gets to go to the field with the twist. I even have a spare sitting in the box out in my shop, collecting dust, awaiting that unfortunate day when the she is damaged beyond repair.

And to answer your question, Waldo.......

I have, but only for a short time, and only in one direction, straight down........

Also, what has happened to Jack? I haven't seen a post from him in a very long time. Sure miss his stories.

Keep up the posts, it's the highlight of my days!

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Can someone help me out? As I was finishing up my building, I noticed two things.

First off, my elevator is lop sided (see me gallery)

What can I do about that...its not warped, I think it was just glued in a little lop sided.

Secondly, my landing gears axles are not behaving, I cant get the nut to go past the blue ring on the head of the nut.

Finally, is the dowel that is expoxied in the wing supposed to be so hard to get down to shape?

Thanks for your help,

Jack

Edit: New photo, thin that will help?

Wow, you guys were busy last night. Page 200, I think I may shed a tear.

R C Jack,

You can bend your elevator back in straight with itself. You have to be really careful not to break the balsa. I have taken a couple pieces of small plywood and put them over where the wire goes into the elevator and then grabbed each side of the elevator and bent them the opposite way until they were aligned agian. The plywood was to give even support of the balsa around the wire and so the pliers didn't dig into the elevator.

I think the blue ring you are describing on the nut is perhaps the lock part of the lock not. I am not sure without seeing it, but this would be my guess. You really have to torque to get it started the first time, but it should go. You can always pick up a couple of new ones at the hardware store if the problem persists. They may look at you a little funny when you bring your T__st in with you to make sure you get a nut that fits.

I carved the end if my dowel with a hoby knife, and then sanded it smooth. It is a very hard wood they use. This is good when you consider that is all that is holding your plane togethor!

Waldo,

The spinach and epoxy thing works, but the ecoli ( not sure how you spell ecoli) will kill ya.

Adam

RC Jack

Adam gave you great advice,,,, Take it.

The nut your talking about is a lock nut, so if your trying to turn it on by hand its not going to happen unless your Rocky or something,,,, once you put a wrench on there it should turn with ease but will feel very Stiff. Thats what its supposed to do.... unless there is a cross thread thing happening, even the Fire wall screws are pretty hard to get in there they go just fine, but it takes some pressure,, I like that too,,,, Security is a great thing.

Glad to see you revived yourself 191,,,, welcome back:D

Rvators Reply to me

He first asked the question for Suitcase, Suitcase still has his T_ _ _ T and RVator has also flown the ship many times and they still do today.

he had other things to say, lets just say their working on things and will post the results when if and when they get them.

Do I have a T-shirt coming to me???? [sm=72_72.gif]

Well, I didn't see a post from Hangar 9 or Horizon... they must be working on a special one-of-a-kind plane for Downtrodden and commemorative shirts for the rest of us nightowls. I guess we can give them a day or so to finalize their plans.

PS - Horizon - make mine a size L, and try to stay away from the pink twirly stripe... it threatens my manhood!

A true Radical Fundamentalist Twistoid would wear a purple and yellow shirt as a badge of honor. It ought to be good for a fight in the cowboy bar in town though.

Exactly.. I'm sure I'd receive a high level of respect at the airfield, but if I stopped off for a beer afterwards....

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Also, are the engine mount screws supposed to fit into the fire wall screw holes? Mine just slide in...and if I am using the right screws, how the hell am I supposed to get into the back of the fire wall to screw in the backings?

I tried the bending of the wire, but it broke through the balsa even with the ply between the elevator and the pliers.

It may just be the builder, but my twist is going together very, very poorly.
