Hi all,

I want to modify my charger, so that it displays the current in digits instead of this inaccurate needle pointer.

Dont stare yourself blind on the brand name, because this charger goes under many names.

Ive opened it up, and tried making pictures, but my cheapskate wal-mart cam REALLY stinks at macro photography. [:@]
So youll have to do with a description. [&:]


Blue = Wires
Red = Terminals
Orange = Thick Copper Wire.

Does someone know how to get this changed to an LCD, so I can set the mAh more accurate?

You can buy a digital multimeter with a 10 amp current range for cheaper than a discrete meter. Discrete meter are about $60.00 each less the current shunt. Plus you don't have to make a mount for it. Just put the DVM in series with you positive output jack.

Well I could do that, but thats not as "cool". Then I could just leave my multimeter hanging from it as I do now.
But that gives such a cable mess when charging in my car. [&:] Id much rather have it built in.

OK. Simpson 3/64 DIN M135-0-0-11-0 non backlit Allied Electronics # 919-5000 $63.32 This is a 200mV unit. You have to make a current shunt for it to read 4 Amps and you need a separate 5VDC power supply to power it.

Or you could make a calibrated dial using your DVM so that the knob setting is accurate. Lots easier.
