I have a brand new RV-9 by E-Flite, and upon landing, the canopy hatch, always seems to come undone, and fly off the plane. There is a small wooden dowel in the from, that gets inserted into a hole in the main fuselage, and a single little magnet on the back underside of the hatch, that connects to another magnet mounted on the top of the radio box area, and thats all that holds it on. Does anyone have any suggestions for a more secure mounting of this hatch to the fuselage? i was thnking maybe a couple more magnets, but I also want to make sure I can get the hatch off whenI need to without having to "pry" it off. I did somewhere that somone CA glued a small piece of balsa to theunderside of the canopy, and put a blind nut in the balsa, and just put a small screw in thru the side of the fuselage to secure the hatch, I just cantremember where the heck Iread it. Any suggestions?

Yup. I agree... more magnets.
Simple, cheap, easy to get, trivial to install...
Epoxy a metal washer onto the affix points on the canopy, and a magnet into the fuse.
I may use a drill bit in the fuse the same size as a round magnet, then affix a small wood square behind the hole.
Once dry I'll glue the magnet in place, which sits flush with the existing wood.
Your local craft store tends to have the small magnets in both small square and circular shapes.

If the magnets don't work for you and you decide to try the blindnut method, I recommend that you mount it in 3/16" plywood, not balsa. Balsa is too soft for this purpose and is likely to break. The piece would be small enough that the weight would not become a concern.
