Hi,
I was wondering if I can make a DX5e controller work with a Volitation 9053 RC Electric Helicopter?
I'm very new to RC planese and helicopters I think it's called binding above but not totally sure.
I would really appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Thank you!!! I'm going to youtube and find out how to bind. With youtube you can find almost anything, There are things left out and that's what makes these forums great.

Binding the DX5e is easy. First, you put the receiver you wish to bind to it in bind mode, then you hold the trainer switch and turn the transmitter on. Then, after a few seconds(It could take up to a minute but mine bound in just three seconds) release the trainer switch. If all is well they should bind up happily.
Sorry.. I did not edit it, I selected your post by mistake to add a picture then removed it.

Bind mode. There is a "bind plug" that goes into the "bind port". The bind port is any of the ports. The bind plug puts a ground (logical low) in the signal path (there are three paths: + - and signal. The + and - are obvlous.. what's left is the signal line because there are only three.
So, the bind plug puts a logical low that forces the receiver into the bind mode. Then when you turn on the transmitter, the receiver recognizes the transmitter and "binds" to it.

Do I need a special bind plug or can I use (don't know the name) one of those things that can go into a receiver with the wire coming out of one section on the top and loops around to another section of the top?
Do you know what I'm talking about. If not I will take a photo of it so you know exactly what I'm talking about but I think you may know.
Thanks in advance!!!

A bind plug comes with your transmitter. If you lost it, you can do the same thing using a spare servo plug, cut the middle lead, and connect the ends of the wires from the two outside plugs together, then plug the thing into the bind port on the receiver.

This is a photo of what I was talking about as being used as well as the bind plug that did not come with it.
The photo is a little blurry and there is only one wire that loops around to go back into the connector for the receiver.

Brian, this is a link to the AR600 receiver. All of the Spektrum receivers are the same as far as binding is concerned.
Get this and keep it around. It's quite important.

Yeah they could have done it like Futaba but I suspect they want to sell us another wire. My Dx5E didnt come with a binding plug so now I have to order a stupid wire to fly my plane. I will not be buying anything but Futaba in the future.

As we said, you don't have to BUY anything. You can make one.
I've bought two Spektrums, a DX6i and a DX7. Both came with binding plugs, and I seem to recall that the receivers came with one too. So, if you didn't get one, chances are you either lost it or it was taken out of the box for some reason. Think about it. Would they sell you a transmitter/receiver combination that needed a binding plug and not provide one for you? I think not.

I bought the pheonix software and the dx5e came with it. That's probably the reason I didn't get a bind plug.
Thank you all for your help, it's like going to the Gods for help!!!
I just wanted to hook all my planes and helicopter up to one transmitter..
I went flying today and the wind was a little gusty every couple of minutes there would be some strong wind, didn't seem like more than 10MPH but I kept losiing my plane's control and wondering what is going on here, I just flew this thing last week, It had to be the batteries because I usually charge them up to full stregnth before I go flying and I didn't do this before I went flying today. So they were laying around for about 5 days, some of which I didn't use and was hoping it held a charge that long.
How long do you usually get out of a stock battery for a SuperCub LP??? What I mean is how long will they hold a charge, 2 days 4 days or should I make sure I charge the night before I go flying?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

I also wanted to note that I didn't use the dx5e but the original transmitter, TX means transmitter correct? If I can type TX instead of transmitter would be much nicer.
Thank you all!!!
Thank you all!!!
