Default Y harness help

Hi, I'm planning to buy a y harness for my receiver. I want to know if the y harness has to be the same maker, of my receiver, for it to work. Example: can I use any kind of y harness for the receiver? Thanks, I appreciate you guys answering me!!

Any "Y" harness will work as long as the plugs on the end are compatible. Generally all the major brands are interchangeable (futaba, JR, airtronics, hitec). The servo plugs are nearly identical, except the Futaba has some extra plastic that you may need to trim off with a razor blade. The main thing is that all servos and receivers expect 3 wires to be in a certain order and all the manufacturers are now the same.

I 'favor' the same mfg. only because they stay connected better than some of the second-market mfgs.

Many companies make very good harnesses. It does not have to be from the radio MFG. I would say that it does need to be HD wire and gold contacts.
