Is it good practice to put a drop of CA in the screw hole (balsa) when mounting a servo ?
I read this somewhere, can't remember where.

Thin CA can be used to "harden" a screw mount. You can follow these guidelines:
1) Mount the servo and drill the screw holes with the appropriate drill.
2) Attach the servo with the mounting screws.
3) Remove the mounting screws and servo.
4) Add a drop of thin CA to each screw hole and allow the CA to dry completely.
DO NOT put too much thin CA in the holes. You want the CA to fully soak into the wood, not fill the holes.
DO NOT reattach the screws until the CA is fully cured or you may end up with permanently mounted servos.
5) Remount the servo and servo mounting screws.
The screws may be quite tight so take your time screwing them in. You don't want to strip the screw heads.
Screw them in a little, then back them out a bit. Repeat this until the screws are fully in.
Now the screw mounts will be stronger and will be less prone to stripping out .

I have been installing my servos just like Scott describes and it works great. You must thread the screws into the lite ply first and then remove them so that the holes are already cut with the thread of of your servo screw. Give the thin CA plenty of time to cure before remounting the servo. When using 1/8" lite ply for a servo mount, this makes the few threads that are cut into the wood very strong and tight.

The the CA hardens the holes. As was stated above, put the screws in first, then remove and use the thin CA.
A tip: Use #2 7/16" or 1/2" SOCKET HEAD screws instead of the phillips head screws. They take a 5/64" hex, but you will HAVE TO WORK AT IT to strip the head of one of them. If your LHS doesn't have them, RTL has them for about $5 for a bag of 100.
