I'm thinking about purchasing a Futaba 7 CAF for my ultimate biplane but I noticed for $30 more I can get 4 digital servos instead of the standard ball bearing ones. What's the difference between normal servos and digital ones? Would I be happier with going digital in the long run?

Go for it..they have better resoulution, and better centering...

and most probably more power - speed.
for $30 you would be mad not to get em

the 3151's have the same power (43oz) as the 3004, so you only really get speed, resolution, and centering.

I had the same question and went for the digital. The 3004's go for $14 and the 3151's go for $40 each. For 4 thats $100 difference minus the $30 difference in price. So you come out $70 ahead. I think thats a great deal.

The servo's are much more precise than standard servo's. They are well worth the extra 30 samoliens. Only thing to know they use more juice than standard servos. So you should use a bigger battery. I would use nothing less than an 800 mah pack. 1000 to 1200 would be better. Good luck with your new radio.

Get hte digitals.
You may want to get a larger pack that standard, but other than that, you will enjoy the responsiveness of the digitals.
