Somebody will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, but I THINK it has cheapo covering.
How about an Ultra Stick by Hangar 9, covered in nice Goldberg UltraCote?

Yes, it's covered in the cheapo stuff.......as far as flying, I heard it's pretty good.... but I would definitely spend a few bucks more and get the Ultra Stick 40.......excellent flying plane and very good build quality. Also, the surfaces are much bigger, so you can get a little more wild with it if you crank up the throws.

I have a TT Stick 40. It is a great flying airplane. Yes, the covering is cheap and will eventually separate leaving a sticky mess. I started recovering mine but have not yet finished. The workmanship under the covering is quite good. As is typical with some of the Thunder Tiger models, the glue that hold the firewall appears to be hot glue. I removed as much as I could without removing the firewall, filled in the gap with epoxy, then added triangular stock to reinforce it. I have had no problems with the firewall.
There is are view of the Stick on my web page. I reviewed in for RC Reports several years ago. The review on my web page is basically a synopsis of that review. I have been pleased with the Stick and would not hesitate to buy another one.

My stick flies great with a 46LA OS. The covering is terrible...very happy after repair and monokote. There was no glue on the ribs. My Tower Hobbies 46 Pro ABC was too much engine for me and required quite a bit of weight on the tail.

When I re-covered my Stick, I took time to inspect the construction. I found one rib that was inadequately glued to the spar and the leading edge sheeting. I put a little CA on it and that was fixed. The firewall, as with many ARF's, was poorly installed. During the original assembly, I added reinforcing with epoxy and never had a problem with it.

When I began considering my 2nd plane, members of my club all agreed: "Get a Tiger Stick". I did and I've enjoyed my first one very much. I'm currently assembying my 2nd one because the first one is just about wasted from so many hours in the air and hard landings.
The Tiger Stick with a Thunder Tiger Pro 46 is a great combo for not a lot of money. A while back Hodges Hobbies in Andersonville, GA was running a special package of Tiger Stick and Pro 46 for $150.00.
Hodges Hobbies also hosts Tiger Stick competitions and you should see some of the flying that goes on in one of those. See hodgeshobbies.com for details.
my 2 cents.
