Default CA Glue on Fingers

What is a good, quick way to remove dried CA glue to your fingers other than peeling it off? Any suggestions?

Acetone, or nail polish remover (Make sure it's not the acetone-free kind)

Acatone is very bad for your skin use caution! It can be sanded off with an emery board.

I usually just let it wear off... dosen't take very long and is a whole lot easier on your skin than chemicals..

to remove hot stuff from your fingers or anything, buy the debonder at your hobby store. the stuff will soften and wipe off easily. It will take two or three tries, but it works and its easy on the skin.

Not that I would recommend this, but I take a razor blade and carve it off. At least most of is. The rest wears off in a couple of days.

The problem is if you get ca on your fingers and then try to handle your contact lenses, it ruins them. Long ago i started wearing disposable latex gloves when using ca and epoxy, they cost about 7 dollars for a box of one hundred. I go through a lot of them but it's still cheaper than new contacts. it's probably not a great idea to be taking a bath in acetone or debonder all the time, either.

Yeah, I knew I'd get blasted by that answer. Acetone IS bad for your skin, as are many of the chemicals we get on our skin every day.

Acetone is not good for you OR your skin. That being said, I usually use acetone to get the CA off my fingers, THEN IMMEDIATELY wash my hands with soap and water to get rid if the acetone. If your skin is dry use some hand lotion to put the moisturizers back in the skin.

Another option is to either peel off what you can and let the rest just wear off (usually a couple of days ).

I agree with the debonder with the green top.
A couple of drops and rub you're fingers together and it will get soft, then just wipe it off with a paper towel.
NO WAY could I wait for it to wear off..to me it's like chineese water torture having it on my fingers![sm=lol.gif]

I use a rag dampened with pure Nitro, works great, doesnt seem to dry out your skin as much as acetone, but I still wash my hands afterwards.

electric random orbit palm sander... it isn't as agressive as it sounds, since your hand/finger isn't a secured object like a board, most of the momentum is wasted... give it a try!

FWIW - read the label on debonder. It has as an active (primary ) ingredient ACETONE !

Just grab one of your wifes/girlfriends/moms nail file. Simply file the glue off.........takes about 5mins and your fingers will be fine, you won't even lose enough skin to lose your fingerprints. Works everytime.

The best thing to do when you get CA on your fingers is to immediately hit it with accelerator. This will make it easier to come off. Just kidding. Do NOT do this.

Fer cryin' out loud! DO NOT USE CHEMICALS ON YOUR SKIN! Even de-bonder is bad bad bad. By the time you get the glue off, and wash your hands, the damage is done.
Soak them in warm water, or use some lotion and let it stay on there for a few minutes, then peel it off.
Another way, believe it or not is to add more glue until you get a good crust on your finger tip, then soak it, it should come off in one big "tip".
