Default Perry Carbs

I need to replace a mashed Super Tigre 90 carburator. Since I must replace it I wonder if I should consider a Perry carb instead. Thoughts anyone? Thanks

I have used a couple Perrys on Super Tigers and they worked well. Only draw back is the high end needle valve. it is not long and easy to adjust but short and a bit of a pain. If the engine is exposed, then you'll be fine if not , you will have a problem. That is why I do not use them anymore. As far as the cost goes between the two, get the st and avoid the hassles

MY favorite engines, HB engines came with Perry carbs. They tune a little differently than most brands, the idle mixture need only be moved a degree or two. Sounds very sensitive, but they are marked accordingly with a few hash marks and a "+" and "-" sign to remind you which way is which. They worked flaulessly for about a year or two, but then the rubber O ring needed replacement. A good friend at the local hobby shop wrangled a source of O rings and it wasn't an issue. I would however, check with Perry first and see if they have rebuild kits or at least replacement O rings available. And since my experience was nearly 25 years ago, the O rings may be made of a newer material that doesn't degrade and leak now.
