oh greenbow. sorry about that I was quoting the movie forest gump. he lives in greenbow al. I really live in NH . All is looking GREAT for this weekend. Car was running good today till I stripped the gears off in the servo. I am just going to throw a standard servo on there for this weekend tho. NOTIHNG will stop me now. Knock on wood.

I went to the LHS today and got some tires for a plane that are about 2 in dia. I am going to make a set of tires that extend off the sides of the car about 1 in off the ground so if it starts to tip the wing wont scrape on the ground.

Here is a rough sketch, the ornge represents the new part.

I have not read all the reply's, not enought time,

Why not drop the engine out of the car to save wieght, and just use it as a rolling chasis. With the right engine and prop you could drive both, a prop powered car, there's a thought [:-]

that idea has been discussed, I like to bring it back up tho. I dont think it is a good idea to take the engine out of the car because it is sopposed to be more of a car that can be launched off a jump and glided to safty. the engine on the plane was a after thot, along with model rocket engines and bottle rockets. ohh. Still lookin good for this weekend. I have 1 camera to tape with, hopeing to get a seccond.

edited some of my spelling[:'(]

Just noticed something ... the ramp is way too steep, the plane will stall. Its not a buggy that you want to have 'big air', its a plane, wings will stall at such high AOA. Unless its a rocket its not gonna be good having such a steep ramp.

ya I am not using that jump any more. I am just going to use a pice of ply wood tipped up a little to make more of a ramp.

tomarows the day!!!!!!!!! here are some pics for you. I decided once I got the plane attached to the car that there was no way it would glide. it would have less flight time than a rock. so I decided to throw a o.s .46 engine on there about 30 secconds ago. Just have to bolt it on and hook up the throttle servo.

correct there is going to be one transmitter to controled my jim. and the car will be controled by me. got it together, I still think I missed somthing tho.

Let me tell you what everything that could go wrong did. first the wire that goes to the glow plug on my car broke off, see it is all atomatic from the ez start system. and I cant get a glow ignitor on it because the plane is in they way. so I made a roll pin that fits on the glow plug and wired it in, as pictured.

well here are some pics, hope you guys like it. go easy on me I just worked on it for about 5 hours straight and really hope it works.

When you take off, will both car and plane be going full throttle? And will the plane engine pull the car when the car is off

In theory, We hope to be going full throttle with the plane then get crusing with the car and hit a sheet of plywood that is proped up about 4 inches. Once we hit the wood we hope it will keep going up or stay level. I dont know how this is going to work tho, I think the wings are going to break now looking at it all together, and realizing how much it weighs.

well I am off to go test it out, be back later!

Are we to assume that you did not meet the 6 lb. weight that you had estimate? How much does the completed system weigh?
