Some advice on my first 4 stroke

Some help please,
I have chosen a ASP 120 to put in my next plane, It's my first 4 stroke so I need some advice.
I need to know the best fuel TYPE AND MIX for runing in and genral operation.
I am aware that most who run 4 stroke engines will have a prefered make, what I need to know is composition and %.
It would also be handy to know what glow plug, ideal prop size would suit for gensal use and any specific tips for starting,initial runing in and genral use.
BTW, the engine is going in a WM Groovy 90 3D. It will be set up on LOW rates until I get used to the plane
So top end performance is not the issue, reliability is though.
Some of you may say read the instructions, I would but they will be in Chinese.
I forgot to mention, It will be inverted as well,

I have never owned an ASP 4 stroke but I have a half dozen or so Saito's and they all run very well on 15% fuel. I find I get a smoother idle with the 15% as opposed to 10%. As for the glow plug, I have found there is only one plug to run in any 4 stroke and thats the O.S. type "F". The first thing I do when I get a new engine is remove whatever plug is in the engine and replace it with an "F" type (unless of course it's an O.S. engine, they come with "F" type plugs installed). Good luck and have fun with your first 4 stroke. Chances are that once you run it for a while you will do what I did and sell all your 2 strokes.

I highly recommend using a tach to set the engine up. There are VERY FEW people that have the ability to set up a 4 stroke PROPERLY by ear.
When you are running the engine (even after breakin), if the engine is not "making smoke", chances are it is running too lean.

I use the same fuel as I use for my two strokes and have never had a problem. (Powermster 10%, 20% oil.)
Don't know about ASP's, but I find four strokes easier to run, and certainly prefer the torque and the sound.
I agree too with the OS "F" plug. Best on the market for four strokes. Second best has to be the Fox "Miracle" plug.

Smoggyboy, I run mine with an OS 'F' plug, GX 10% and its also inverted. Run a few tanks through it on the bench before installing it, it is so much easier to adjust the needles this way. Also run it very rich for the first 2 tanks, and revs at 4000 RPM max, keep the glow driver on if needed. My engine has got better the more I run it, at first I thought it had poor compression, but it has improved with running.
p.sp check the valve clearences as well, mine were a bit sloppy from the box.

Do check the valve settings, even before the first run as I've seen new out of the box units miss adjusted. Check them again after the first 20 or so minutes of running as initial wear can make quite a change. After that you only need to check them after several hours of running or when you notice a change in power output or starting problems. Bad valve settings can cause many types of problems, some could cause permanent engine damage.

It arrives today
so I must finish my test mount. I will bench run it until I am happy working with such a big engine and prop.
