Thanks for all the replys guys. One reason I like NOT to fly alone is the rattle snakes at the field. If I ditch the plane in the desert (up tp 1/2 mi. away) I don't want to be the only soul there just in case a snake looks at me as lunch...Also I like to fly for 10-12 min and BS with the guys for 15-20 min. and fly again. When alone (been there, done that) I fly my time and then what? seat down and look at the blue sky?
Not looking for a follow pilot necessarely (would be nice), just another soul would be nice...In the winter time its a whole new story...way TOO many people at the field, Here are a couple of links to the pictures of our field:

Flying alone would be nice for me being a kinda of newb and very shy, but i need to learn so i need an instructor at the feild with me.

You have a vrey nice looking feild and an even better looking backdrop, that veiw is amazing. Might not be to you but it is for this aussie!

If im ever in AZ ill take you up on that offer for beer brats and maybe a bit of flying.

I like flying alone when I'm maidening a new plane. Like this past week. Maidened or tried to anyways, fly my new Space Walker II. Veered off to left on runway when it went full power and I tried taking off anyways. Had too much right rudder and it cartwheeled. Wing saddle broken. No one sees the "walk of shame"....
As to beer and other booze at the field, both clubs I belong to have outlawed alcohol. However, having Bud or two isn't really a big deal as a few members have told me that they have partaken in the "suds" at the field when no one was there. I guess it would be the same if I sat in my yard in my camp chair and flying my slow flyer P-51 around the yard whilst indulging in some Yuengling Lager cold ones. I could get "half in the bag" and the plane could fly off and hit someone's car 3 miles away.

i guess i am lucky. I fly every sat, sun morning. 99% of the time, either my instructor, or another another student of my instructor is there. I fly at a school, about a 10 minet bike ride away. (only 13). my instructor can walk there in 5 minets, and the other guy is a short drive.

when i fly alone, i do things with the plane that i wouldn't do when my instructor is there

it is lonely, but just enjoy the flying!
