Well Im all ready to go I got my JR Alpha trainer all set my JR Quattro radio, Trainer link173 (hangar 9) to hook up to my Hitec Eclipse 7 Radio, The channel set on the Hitec and the shift set for JR, I turn On the receiver on the Plane and My Hitec radio, Then the Fiasco begins I move my elevator on the stick and the plane aerolons move, I move the Aerolons on the stick the throttle moves on the plane, Move the throttle then the Elevator moves on the plane. The only Consulation is the if I move the Rudder Im good to go. Am I in for a whole new learning Curve? No seriously what can I do to correct this. all help is appreciated. Moderator if you beleive this is posted in the wrong section and you need to move it please do Whereever I can get the most help on this. Thanx

I think that your problem is in channel management. Ch #1 on JR is throttle while hitec is aileron. chan #2 on JR is Ailereon and Hitec is elevator. So on with the other channel . #4 is the same on both radios. I hope that this gives an explenation on the confusion. Change the servos to these settings on the receiver and see if they corrospond correctly.

Is this going to cause trouble using the Hitec hook up to the JR radio? I plan on using the Hitec as the operational radio and the JR as the trainer

My Feedback: (3)
I recommend you find a student transmitter that matches the HiTec radio. Then move your servo leads at the receiver so that you can use the HiTec.
Another option would be to use your JR radio, and find a JR-compatible student transmitter.
I recommend you not spend much time trying to use the two incompatible radios with an instruction cord. The two options above will not prove so frustrating.
Good luck,
Dave Olson

rays89. By the sound of your inatial post, I am afraid that it would be a big issue. My suggestion is to hook the servos up to the receiver as I previously suggested and see what happens. I am afraid that when you engage the trainer switch to opperate the slave transmitter, you will still have the same problem in reverse. Hitec and Futaba are compatable, but these are the only two factory brands that are that I know of. JR and Airtronic receivers will interchange on the same frequencies but the transmitters aren't compattable with each other. You will still brobably have the same troubles. Bruce

Looks like Im back to square one Im wondering why Hangar 9 sells a trainer link (han173) to hook up a JR to a Futaba radio. I have a club meeting on Wed. I figure Ill throw this same question to the group. Its frustrating being grounded. I have experience with 3 channel electrics and limited on four channel with a switchback, Im self taught on those, But dealing with Nitro I decided to join a club and get professional instruction,
