I'm posting this here for the sake of newcomers interested in the Uproar as a second or third kit. I recently maidend an Uproar 40 with a Tiger Shark .39 With controls throws set as recommended this thing is very docile. Anyone with high wing aileron experience should have no problems with the transition. Once comfortable, increase the throws as desired. Just remember that it doesn't have the self-righting tendancies of your trainer. It has no bad habits even though it has no dihedral. It's semi-symmetrical aifoil is magic. Keep a couple of clicks of throttle 'till your over the numbers because it's wing is very thick. It bleeds-off airspeed quickly when power is reduced. With some throttle management, however, you can drag this thing to your feet without tip-stalling. Align your ailerons with an invisible line from the center of the leading edge to the center of the trailing edge and you'll be fine. I know this sounds redundant, but when you look at the shape of the airfoil, you'll understand. Enjoy....Mark

I just maidened mine last week, after my trainer this was my second plane, and my first kit, but after flying it around for a while I descovered that it was easier to fly than the trainer. I sure recomend it for a second plane.

Fairly sturdy bird as well. I mid-aired a H9 Twist and cut the Twists tail off behind the fuse. Only damage to mine was cracked motor mount and landing gear pulled off on panic landing. Next mis hap was a 42 deg. wot landing,,,,,,,,shucked the front off to the lead edge, but wing and fuse held on,,,,,,back together and flyin it again this weekend.
Powered by a OS 46AX with a MAS 12x4 prop,,,15%nitro. nice harriers, waterfalls, flatspins when the CG is set up right.

Re-Maiden(post crash repair) of the Uproar 40 went well! Roll rate stayed the same. wanted to roll out of inverted though. Upon landing, discovered before not detected leak in fuel tank. and CG was AT Leading Edge, that puts it 3 inches forward of factory setting. Lands real nice,,no wonder,,,,,,,,,Still an awesome, yet easy to build, rebuild airplane.

Sooner- glad you're back in the air. You probably changed the lateral balance during the rebuild. I've actually glued a coin to one wing tip or another the effect the change necessary. It's also possible to have a "twist" in the fuse. or vertical stabilizer which would cause your roll-out problem also. I flew my Uproar this morning. On reduced throttle it's a kitten. Highly recommended as plane #2. I'm breaking-in a Magnum 52FS, a nice match for this aircraft.

I flew an Uproar for over 7 years. Engine was a OS .40FP (Still flying the engine - its over 15 years old). After years of abuse, I ended up rebuilding the tail (it became basically a Extra 300 tail), recovered, and got rid of the canopy. Same engine, but at least 50% GREATER PERFORMANCE. I have since retired the bird - just too much fuel soakage into the balsa. It's cheaper to get a new kit and build in the modifications that I put on the first one. I would not recommend the plane has as a 2nd plane - maybe a 3rd. Next one I build - flaps, maybe a 4 stroke, no canopy, a little bit bigger tail and rudder (Helps in knife-edge). Overall, one of the best planes I've ever had for fun flying.

yep, replaced the 7 gram starboard weight, that was tossed during flawed landing(spelled: crash). new 6 oz tank. will try agian tommorow. CG proved to be dead on, will move it back 1/4 at a time until it hovers and waterfalls satisfactorily. Still a great lil plane.
