there flying lawn mower and flying car. where are the rudders? I though rudders were essential in learning to land, aren't they??

Not really-- ailerons work well. It very much depends on the aircraft -- combat models & flying wings invariably don't have rudders.
There can be limitations in the flight envelope without a full set of flying surfaces, but not necessarily unworkable limitations.

just as exeter acres said,

I know Spiro from flying things, and those models are NOT for beginners, i was shocked to see that name in this forum lol

they are meant for flyers that have alot of experience.

I though rudders were essential in learning to land, aren't they??
i cant help but chuckle at that lol Do not use one of the flying thingz to learn how to land. Get a trainer, and if you are good at that, try something low wing , like a four star from Sig or somthing

the Flying Thingz are fun though, here's some pics at the last show i went to, Spiro is flying.

I have a trainer and can take it off and land it quite good (haven't crashed it in the process) which puts me above my class right now. good advise, your just preaching to the wrong person on the "get a trainer" deal. thanks though

I guess that you're ready for the lawnmower Sarge --- go for it.

I am just saying that they are nothing like a trainer, they are pretty difficult compared to something like a trainer.

The witch, if any, is the one you should probobly try, it is mainly a powered kite, and it flies the easiest.

thanks I understand they are more difficult. i have a park flyer that is only ruder and elevator and it can be quite a ride trying to keep it in the air. and I have flown the v-tail park flyers, they are nice planes but go to chit in the wind. thanks all

the lawn mower only has ailerons/elevon thing like a diamond dust or whiplash. The one I see flying here is good but the only fault is no glide ratio at all. when the engine quits , it comes straight down.
