Hi ya'll,
I was wondering what you guys thought of this plane as a second plane.I'm looking for a 4 channel with ailerons. This works out great since it has ailerons too.I am currently flying the aerobird challenger. What are your opinions on this plane.Anyone have this plane?
I want to get this plane and use the stock set up.I'll probably get the optic 6 with futaba s3108 micro servos. They seem better than the hitec hs-55s.
Here's a link.

I don't know anything about the Kadet, however, I just finished constructing and flying my M.M. Dandy Sport and love it. Food for thought if you'd want to consider it for yourself. Its of great quality and durable!

Definately! The Kadet in any form is a great first second third or whatever plane. Just type in Sig Kadet in Googele and read the reviews. I am considering the Kadet EP but I am also considering getting a Kadet Senior ARF and converting it for electric power. Course that will be if I can raise the dough!

I'm working on the SIG Senior kit. It's not the EP42 ARF you asked about, but I can tell you it's a great kit for a beginner.
This will be my second plane- Ventura was 1st. If you change your mind about the arf and want to build a kit, I think you'd find this a great kit. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and there's a bunch of guys who have a lot of experience with the thing. I decided to build it after watching a bunch of the "old-timers" in my local club flying them one SUnday morning.

There is a Kadet EP flying at my club field. Unfortunately, I keep showing up just as the pilot is packing up for the day so I haven't actually witnessed it fly, but he assures me it flies rather well. However, he says the motor gets quite hot if he spends a lot of time at high throttle--so an upgrade might be in order to see the plane's full potential.

One word of advice on all the Kadets. If you have flown before, build the kit with half the dihedral called for. This will give you more control with ailerons than the stock design will.

Have a Kadet EP....is my second trainer following an Efite Gypsy......I changed the motor to an AXI because I wanted an outrunner. The plane was never flown with the supplied motor. I am totally happy with the plane, it flies well, I have had to so some repairs which were easy, it is very rugged, an excellent size for transporting in car. I use a 2000 mah Kokam battery which gives me 20 to 30 minute flite times......too long, I get tired!!!!!!!!!!!
The Kadet ep42 gets my thumbs up!!!!!!!!

I have the EP 42.
The first motor that came with the kit was no good, which they replaced right away.
When I test flew it with the replacement motor it ran very hot, like smoked!!
I removed the cowl and it flew like a Kadet. Very nice.
I have opened a hole under the prop about 2" by 2", also opened the holes on each side of the prop. I also opended four holes in the fuselage behind the battery hatch. I copied the holes in the hatch cover.
Static run on the bench for five minutes and you can touch the motor, couldn't do that before.
I think I have a Keeper.

How much flight time do you guys get with your batteries. I'm thinking of getting a mega 16/15/6 and a phoneix 25 with a 9x5.5 prop. What do you guys think? Maybe a 2000 mah lipo too.Any suggestions?
