I recently noticed something, why do all glow airplane engines have rotary carburetors and not slide-valve carbs? I'm thinking rotary carbs would be easier to control in a airplane than a slide valve carb.

Not all, I have a couple of OPS 45's that have slide carbys, rear rotor race engines.

The Webra Dynamix is a slide-valve carburetor that has been around for a long time. It's a little tricky to adjust, but provides excellent response. I suspect rotary barrel carbs are easier to manufacture.

The reason rotary barrel carbs have been so successful and almost universal in our applications is the fact that this type is easily made to not only provide not only rotary motion for throttle control but also provide easy in an out (longtitudinal) movement for simple and effective double needle midrange control.
