i have a modeltech magic funfly, i have flown it probably 10 times and am fairly comfortable with it, the forcast tommarow says for 10-20mph wind and i am really wanting to get it in the air again, but heres the problem, i fly out of my backyard which turns into a hayfield and theirs trees on one side of the yard forcing me to have to land with a tail wind BUT i had the idea of pointing the magic into the wind and try to have it go backwards until im over the yard and land it. from my expierence it will stay still in about a 5-10 mph wind if you point the nose up so i think i should be able to back it into the yard, any suggestions?

well there are old pilots and bold pilots but there arent any old bold pilots
take offs are optional, landings once airborne are mandatory
think about it

(Cost of airplane/lack of skill) - ("Hey y’all, watch this...†+ Trick never before attempted) = (Funds in bank account - Cost of repairs or new airplane)
Having just published my algorithm, I would love to see the video - no matter what the outcome!

In the interests of safety, you should do this only if your plane is equipped with a rear view mirror.

Yes you can land any plane with no foward movement. Even moving backwards.
But you have to grab the plane with the engine running or the wind can and has flipped them if you forget and chop the power to idle.
High winds need throttle till the plane is in someones hand on smooth stuff. Grass, you can get away with idle most of the time.
