Default compatible engines for the nexstar

I've just ordered a Nexstar ARF.
What engines other than the O.S. 46 FXi will fit without adding shims, changing the engine mount or adding an exhaust extension?Wondering what my options are.

Not sure about others but the OS 46 AX should work without shimming etc, but any 40-46 2 stroke engine will work.

I thought any 40-46 should fit then I read this little addendum on http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJDH3&P=RO

*Because the .46LA dimensions are different than a bearinged engine,
it will not work in this plane unless modifications are made. You
will need a different engine mount. Depending on which engine
mount is used, you may need to add aprox. 1/4" to 3/8" plywood
to the firewall to extend the prop forward enough to keep it from
contacting the fuselage.

If a Tower .46 is being use, you will need to use an muffler
extension. The Dubro 699 Muffler Extension DUBG1319 will work fine.

I've got an OS-50SX in mine and it dropped right into the "Iso-mount" system Hobbico supplies with the model.
I don't think and 40 to 50 size engine would be a problem even if some modifications were required. If you can't
or won't deal with them I would suggest you stick with what Hobbico recommends. Best of luck.

the 46 works well with this airframe a 40 might be a bit under powered if you are going any where go up in size for sure a 50 or a 4 stroke like a 70 or so
