I'm having trouble starting my O.S. .40 it is getting entirely too much fuel, it's shooting it out the carb as I crank the prop. Anyone have any idea what I've done wrong? It started for about a second before the fuel seemed to shut off, but when I went to re-fuel, fuel immediately started coming out the fuel line that goes to the muffler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are Your fuel lines switched? The Line from the clunk in fuel tank should go to carb and the other 1 should go to pressure tap on muffler. Its easy to get them switched sometimes. many use different colored fuel lines to keep it straight.

I tried switching the fuel lines with no success. Could I have the pressure pipe in the tank pointing the wrong direction? If it was pointing down instead of toward the top of the tank could that cause this?

Morning axeman, just a few hints, first the engine is flooded, remove the igniter, turn the plane upside down to get the fuel out of the engine, also fuel will pour from the muffler, check the fuel lines to see if crossed, check to see if the glow plug is working, open needle valve according to instructions[2.5 turns out]open throttle, put finger over carb, turn prop until fuel is at carb.stop!!! Close carb to 1/4 or 1/2 open, conn igniter, start engine. If engine floods again then repeat process, but close needle valve,OS usually is an easy starter if fuel and glow heat is there.I'M ASSUMING THE FUEL IS GOOD ,NOT LAYING AROUND WITH LID OFF.

Check the position of the fuel tank if it higher than the carb that is your problem, also check that your lines of kinks. If the vent line is obstructed that will cause it to. Have a similar problem with a fuel tank that is to close to the firewall and the vent line got a kink in it till I moved the tank back and reran the lines.
