Building a flight box
Here is the Field box that I use. The power panel and fuel pump are mounted into the bottom section of it. The box (before customizing) was purchased at Wal-mart for $25.

You can get PVC sheet material at most sign shops and some home improvment stores...The combat threads mention suppliers that sell it along with that coro-plast material that some of those guys are using to build combat wings.

.Hi jduran280,
Thats a nice setup you have there but to be honest with you theres just something about the wooden flight boxes.
Yes,
They weigh more and cost more but I built Kayaks and canoes when I could have picked up a used plastic one for less than half of what I invested in the wood canoe.
It must be that I made it syndrom

Thanks for the info.
I was just on the phone trying to get prices on magnetic material to make up my own signs.
I'll have to give them a call.
I never saw PVC in sheet form.
It ain't wood but if you sand it it should take a stain finish and some varnish for a nce shine.
Looks like a nice cheap project.
Thanks for the information

RE: Building a flight box
My thought is to just buy a field box. i think this [link=http://www.dodge.com/durango/index.html?context=homepage&type=main_image]one[/link] looks the best, but I am sure you can find a cheaper one...but when your going to buy, buy the best.

RE: Building a flight box
Tattoo I must say that has got to be the uuugggliest box I have ever laid eyes on. It is just too darn cool. That is what I would use if I did'nt have my current set up. I have an old Goldberg field box that has all my goodies in it. I also have a small home made box that has a motorcycle battery, my starter, nilighter and battery checker and field charger in it. I also have a Dubro fuel filler with a hand pump. All small and light.
