The best engine in that power range is the OS .46AX, but it's expensive. You can get an OS .46 LA for around $60. Get that one, unless you can afford the AX which will transition nicely into a second plane.
I have an OS .46 LA NIB and I will probably never use it as I am into larger planes now.

I am teaching one of our new club members to fly
and he has a Tower Voyager so Im getting to fly
it quite a bit. I am mildly surprised that its a quite
good flyer. Better than I expected.
He has an OS 46 AX on it and its way more engine
than necessary. The 46LA would probably be fine
on it but I would recommend getting something like
a Thunder Tiger 46 Pro.
The TT46 iis still going to be more motor than the Voyager
really needs but its lots less expensive than the AX and
unlike the 46 LA it will be more adaptable to planes you
are likely to get later.
The LAs are pretty dependable motors but are pretty
anemic powerwise.

Welcome to our addiction.
You will find that most people are more than willing to help new flyers. We all started there too.
Go get an instructor...I recommend having a few instructors to maximize stick-time, but some instructors prefer for a student to stick with one.
I had my own Buddy-box, (they are cheap), which helped me get lessons from un-suspecting flyers at my club. Be aggressive, but polite and grateful. you will learn in no-time.
Good luck!!

You may want to wait on the radio untill you see what is popular at your field. You instructor should be able to program your radio and it should be easily compatible with his in order to 'buddy-box'.
Why don't you call one of the club board members or send an e-mail directly. It may be a way to get more specific info.

Look in the RCU marketplace. I have a RTF trainer package to sell, but it includes plane, field equipment, radio, buddy-box etc. I want to keep it as a 'package deal'.
I'm sure you will have no trouble finding what you need.

Avistar 2, IMHO leave the LA series alone unless you just absolutely can't afford better. The Voyger deserves a better engine than an LA. You can always throttle back, thats what the left stick is for. A TT46 PRO or an OS46 AX or older FX would be a great match.
$120 for a radio?? What radio?? We need more info.

Avistar, i know you just baught a 4 channel radio but if you ever have the oppertunity go with a 6-10 channel computer radio. Computer radios give you much more room to grow.

Avistar...I know you're eager to get started but take a bit of advice
from someone that does a lot of training...wait until you line up
an instructor before you buy too much stuff. Especially a radio.
The equipment you get should be familiar to your instructor.
It will save you BOTH invaluable time. If your instructor
is a JR guy then you would be better off going that direction.
Its easier to buddy box JR/JR and Futaba/Futaba.
Your instructor will be the single most important thing
to line up. Far more important than a radio or engine.
There is a lot more to learning to fly than merely
learning not to crash.

Yeah contact a field instructor before you do anything else.
Forget the LA engines they have far less power than the FX/AX series and feature only a single needle valve and a bleed valve for the low end.
The low end is almost impossible to set correctly on the LA series.
I have a 40LA that runs too rich on the low end and there is no way to lean it out as the screw is fully open on the bleed valve.
Ugh... not worth the time and effort.

I tried this.
It helped, as at least the engine runs stabily now w/o flooding out, but it is still too rich and the hole is big enough that I don't want to go any further.
Thanks.
