Default SIG Rascal 110 or Lainer Yak 54

Happy Christmas to all.

I have been flying for quite some time now and find that 3D planes are just as easy to fly as trainers. My Dad does not have the best eye sight, so i am thinking of either a rascel 110 or something like a Lainer yak 54 or other yaks/extra's!

Can't speak for the other planes but I do know for a fact that the Rascal 110 is a smooooooth flyer ! Flat rudder turns, knife edges like no tomorrow! Just don't want to over power it ! The one at our field is powered by a Zenoah 26 I believe...Good luck with your purchase! I'm sure your Dad will love it reguardless !

Are you pullin' my leg? You're trying to choose between a Rascal and a Yak?

I agree that many 3D planes are as easy to land as trainers...sometimes easier. If you're not kidding about your question, then I'll recommend the Rascal over the Yak. Things will happen more slowly with the Rascal...the Yak isn't a difficult plane to fly, but the rascal seems like it might be a better fit for you based upon the fact that you asked the question at all. You could put floats or skis on...where you live that might be a plus! Small gas engine would make the plane easy to deal with (I've all-but given up glow...especially large glow engines...what a pain!)

If you were to go with a 50cc Yak, I'd recommend the Aeroworks #1, #2 would be the BME...I think Ultra-RC has a new one(?), there are a few others, but the importers are flaky and you might find that a few months down the road that there are no replacement parts available. The Lanier wouldn't even be on my list.

this plane, or...

This one....

You're kiddin' us, right?

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Then you ain't flying one of 'em right.

Seriously, has anyone ever flown a 2-D airplane? As soon as it takes off you're flying in three dimensions.

If he can catch a fly between his thumb and forefinger, drinks a lot of black coffee and yells at anyone in front of him while driving for being too slow - go with the Yak. If he drives with his left turn signal on at all times and complains about the drivers behind him being too close (or drives any Chevy other than a Vette), can't see flys and still puts cream in his coffee - go with the Rascal.
