Any ideas why my new Alpha 60, evolution 61 engine has bubbles in the line when I prime, before I even start the engine?
The plane will start, but will not keep running.

Check the rubber stop at the tank for tight fit.
Check all fuel lines for pinholes, cracks and propper attachment.
Check the needle valve assembly for leakage (if fuel can get out... air can get in)

I guess I will replace all lines from tank to engine and see what happens, stopper is tight, I checked it last night, Horizon put the stopper on upside down, vent to the bottom vs top, I switched that to vent to top...brand new frickin plane

I changed all the lines, plus the reason the tank was loose, is the hole that the tank stopper fits into was too small, not cut out to fit, so it did not fit in the hole, some yahoo at Hanger 9 just shoved the tank up against the firewall, plus the vent was towards the bottom...upside down, the plane still has air in the lines and doesn't run...I think the stopper might be defective too, it comes out of the tank real easy, engine is not tuned since it will not start or will start temporarily sometimes and not continue running, air in the lines as soon as you prime it...pretty crappy build and quality control on this airplane from Hanger 9 I must say. [:@]
The plane arrived with the switch in the on position and battery drained, the engine has never run, always has air in the lines as soon as you prime it, hole for the tank stopper not cut right so tank stopper does not fit in hole and tank just slops around, stopper upside down with vent upside down, problems with a tail screw not fitting right and the nut in the tail shearing out of the wood...so I glued in the tail and used a wood screw...I think Hanger 9 must have had a bunch of 2 year olds putting this plane together!
Alpha 60 Hanger 9 RTF ...Ready to FLy, just replace parts, cut holes and make shims, replace fuel lines, put in your Hobby shop for tuning and replacing of more parts, wait a few weeks then just add fuel and you are Ready to FLY!

I am sorry to hear of your experience. I purchased 2 new Hangar 9, Alpha 60's from Horizon Hobby. Never had any problems with assy. and they both ran perfect from the start.
I suggest that you call Horizon Hobby, explain the problems and they should send you a new plane, and pay for the return shipping on the one you have. Give it a try.

Sounds like you got one of those planes assembled at the end of shift on Friday. Do you have an experienced RC pilot available to help you? Some of your problems may not be as big as you think but it's hard for us to visualize without being there. The inverted vent tube is a definite show stopper and the fuel stopper should have to be forced out. If it's falling out then when your engine runs it would blow fuel out around it and not be able to keep fuel pressure on the carb. Tighten the screw in the center of the stopper. If it has been over tightened and the tank cracked then you will need a new tank... call Horizon Hobby for an RMA.

if vent lined inverted that's 1 problem. check the fuel tank for leaks{block off vent line submerged tank into water and blow into feed line and see if any bubbles should not be any}if there is check the bung .. check the fuel tank for cracks..if ok then check fuel lines for pin holes and maybe place foam around the tank

the tank only goes in one way, the stopper is towards the top, so if you put it in wrong, the stopper and tubes have no way through the firewall, they put the stopper on upside down, and they did not cut the hole in the firewall correctly, the stopper cannot fit into the hole, it is too small, someone just shoved it up against the firewall and screwed in the brace, turned on the receiver switch and put it in a box, they probably thought it was funny.
This is just one of many things wrong with this plane. The tail feels like it would rip off after a couple of loops and that's even after I glued it in, it is only suppose to be held on with 2 screws, no gluing.
Horizon said they are going to send me a shipping label to send my plane back and then they will send me a new plane after I send this one back. I hope they follow through since I've spent $400.00 for this plane a month ago and it has never flown and will not even run, now I have to wait a couple of more weeks to get this resolved.
The bottom line is it is a BEGINNER/TRAINER Ready To Fly airplane and I should not have to put it in the shop to have someone replace parts and tune it, I shouldn't have to jury rig other parts like I have had to do either.
The plane should start right away for beginners, we shouldn't have to be experts in engine tuning and fuel systems to start a Begginer Ready to Fly Airplane and the tail shouldn't rip off on the first loop.

As far as I have seen H9 has been great about honoring their word. Buddy of mine had a wing come apart on him and they sent him a new plane after he sent in the carcass. Good luck with the new plane. Have an expericed buddy help you out and if the instructions tell you to just tape the wings together thumb your nose at the instructions and epoxy it.
