Default Li-Ion basic question: meter

I have an airplane with a 5600mah/7.4V battery for the radios and a 2800mah/7.4V for ignition.
I've read up and understand how these work, however, I am looking for an INEXPENSIVE voltmeter to read these batteries.
I have a Triton Jr. charger I bought to charge them and they read voltage, however, I don't believe this puts a load on them to get a good reading.
Questions:
1. What is the appropriate load to put on batteries of this size to get a true accurate reading?
2. Where do I find an inexpensive voltmeter that will read these. Nothing fancy, just basic.

I use the Fromeco 8 ball...

it puts a 1A and then a 1.5A load on the batteries

Why would he post this in the electrics forum? It has NOTHING to do with electric airplanes.

I second the Fromeco 8-Ball!!! It's the best meter for li-ions, Lipos, and I even use it for NiCD and NiMH. It's also good for adjusting your regs.

Get one, even if it seems like a lot of money, ( I think they are $50), it will be a savings in the end.

OH, also, never fly below 7 Volts at a 1.5 Amp load on either battery, just to be safe.
