I've been covering my TF Arrow and before I cover over the wing saddles I figured I would measure the wing tip to floor measurement from both wing tips. I had sanded and sanded before covering and I thought I had it correct. Now I'm a 1/2 inch off. One wing tip is 10 inches from the floor and the other is 9 1/2 inched from the floor. Is it that big of a deal? What should I do?
Thanks for your help.

Is it on wheels, or on a perfectly level cradle? If it's sitting on the gear, the gear may be bent. Sit it in a perfectly level, flat cradle, and then measure it.

I had it sitting on the gear no wheels. I guess i should just let it sit on the belly pan. If it is still off should I go ahead and make a mess or does that 1/2 inch going to make that big of a difference? I've got the whole thing cover with exception on the strip that covers the wing saddle.
Thanks

Don't look for trouble until you measure it sitting level. You can probably live with it as long as the stabilizer is parallel to the wing. If it makes you feel any better then look at it as each wing is off 1/4 inch. One high and one low.

I like the way you think. I guess unless you build everything in a jig nothing will be perfect. I'm so close to finishing this thing after a year and a half that I"m just ready to get the project complete so that I can start building my little girls LT 40. On top of all that I've got to take the boss out to Denver this afternoon. This having a job is tough[>:]

as long as your rear stabilizer is parrallel to the wing you should be fine. I'm sure it won't be anything that a little trim can't fix. You might end uip worse off if you try to take that much off the other wing.

Could be worse. Dug any ditches or tarred any roofs lately? Maybe laid some ashphalt?

ahhh, ok. I understand now!!!

I know what you mean. When I was 15 my dad got me a job roofing for a summer. At the end of the summer I told him that I never wanted to do that again in my life. Great motivation to get a better job!!!! Of course, that's why he did it!!!

Oh don't get me wrong. I have a great job!! You know how it is, when you really get into something you just don't want to stop. I'm flying the airline home and don't have to go back until Sunday to pick them up. I'm off Thursday through Saturday. Not a bad deal. I'm more worried about my Arrow being correct.

Got back from Denver and I remeasured the wing. I took of the gear and bolted the wing to the fus. It was 1/4 inch off. Closes enough in my book. I hope.

Assuming they are only slightly out of parallel (wing & stab) you will probably barely be able to detect it in flight and only during certain maneuvers. If you can prop up the plane in such a manner to make sure the stab is level THEN measure the difference at the wing tips. If needed an incidence meter can be rigged side-to-side to find/set level, then measure the wings.
