How to make sure engine is put on straight?
I changed the Fuse on my Hanger 9 PTS Mustang with a new one. I'm not sure I have my engine 100% straight? I have the engine mount flush against the rear bolts... and it looks straight... but I'm not sure. I hope it won't be too much of a problem when I re-test the plane in flight, if I'm really close?

if you have a laser level that you can lock, just set it up so it shines on the center of the plane from the top, if the line hits the center of the tail and hits the center of the crank or glow plug you should be ok.

From a fixed point at the tail measure forward to a prop tip (prop held EXACTLY horizontal and use same point on tail centerline for both measurements). Distances to prop tips on each side of fuse should be equal. Use a measuring device that does NOT stretch when doing this. Point on tail not critical as long as on centerline but the further back the better.

It's a NEW replacement fuselage so I doubt there are any alignement marks. The cowl would be matched to the engine whether it is straight or not. If the engine was DRASTICALLY off it might make a difference.

Cowel fits nice... and it measures 1/4" evenly all around the back of the Nose Cone. The fuse wasn't pre-drilled for the cowel, but the fake exhaust holes were. I lined up those, then made my marks and drilled. I'll have to move the Cowel a hair closer to the Nose Cone so I can take up the gap a little tighter.
