Hey I have a yak and was wondering if you balance inverted or right side up thanks

You can do it both ways, but you`ll find low wings balance easier inverted.

Does balancing upside down place the CG in a different place then right side up or does is it just make it hang easier with the mass below.

No difference in the location, it just sits more steadily with the mass below the lift points.

No , your CG stays the same , Like Bad_Daddy said, having the mass below the wing is just easier to balance them this way.
