I've heard of K2R spot remover and also kitty litter. I used the litter once. I poured it into the cavity and let it sit for days. Whenever I'd walk past the plane I'd shake it a little to move the litter around to soak up more fuel. It worked, but to this day I still have litter rolling around that area.
I just can't seem to get it all out.
I did not have K2R or I would have tried that instead.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you fuel-proof the area after you get it cleaned up.
Good luck!

There are a number of threads that have discusseed all types off ways to pull the oil out of wood. I prefer using K2R and the kitty litter. The kitty litter will take a day or 2 to work, put it does. The K2R will work in about 30 minutes, however you may have to do it a couple of times to get it out. If you are going to apply some covering to the cleaned area, a coat or 2 of Balsarite will hepl it to stick down. Good Luck, Dave

I have used " CRC Electronic spray" when I couldn't get K2R. Just spray it on and rub over it with an old tooth brush till it feels dry. Then spry a light coat of hair spray on it before recovering. MAKE sure it is ELECTRONIC cleaner and not some other kind.
If the fuel went in under the wing, you might use some wing saddle tape to help keep it out. ( Foam insulation tape )

If the spot is bare wood a heat gun will make the fuel and oil run to the surface where you can wipe it off. Just don't burn the wood. Of course, this won't work if it's really close to covering.
To fuelproof bare wood mix some epoxy with denatured alcohol. It should be of similar consistancy to paint. Brush it on and let it dry. I've had a tank rupture and could still fly after sopping up the fuel and replacing the tank because I fuelproofed the tank area.

I went to the HS and purchase a small bottle of Aero Gloss by Midwest. It says it's a fuel proof dope. Part of the engine compartment on my Kaos ARF is not fuel proofed. Will this work and can I spread a small amount over the trim covering to help hold it down as well?
Thanks

any dope will work as fuel proofing clear is what i use on almost every model i have.a lot of people use epoxy also.if you just had fuel soak that one time i dont think you will have much problem getting it out.
