Default radio to rec prob.

hi,

i have a jr sx 600 radio that i want to mate up with a hitec rcd 3600 reciever.
i went out and bought a jr rec crystal on the same freq.the batts are charged.
i also switched to model #2 via transmitter manual.
i got nuthin.

i then took it out of the plane and did a simple test, plugged servo into throttle port and plugged batery into batt port and still nuthin.

could this be the crystal or the radio.
it is a jr compatible hitec rec.

lol im stumped[:-]

Yes the 3600 is a JR compatable rx however you cannot use the JR single conversion crystal. Never mix brands of crystals in the device of another brand.

As you described using a single conversion JR Rx crystal will not work in your Hitec Rx.

Order a new dual conversion Hitec Rx crystal (blue stripe) on the channel # of your choice.

This is the exact crystal you need for you Hitec rx Eight bucks and just fill in the channel #

Never substitute crystal brands

Tx and Rx crystals are not interchangable

A Rx crystal must be of a single conversion or dual conversion type to match the Rx's conversion type.

Well, to a degree. The xtal you're plugging into the rx needs to be close to the channel it was tuned for. I know someone's going to come on here and say it needs to be the exact same channel, but in reality, it needs to be close (within 60 Kc ... 3 channels either way at the most). If you get too far away from the channel it was tuned for, you'll run into signal loss and weaker channel rejection.

He is not doing a system frequency change and not changing the Tx crystal. He only needs to install the proper crystal in his Rx--and yes the new Hitec dual conversion crystal must have the exact same channel number of the Tx crystal to function!

By the way Hitec Rx's are plug and play across the entire band that the Rx is intended to be used for. For the 3600 that is inclusive of CH 11 through 60 with no tuning necessary
