I would like to add a spinner to my cub, it is the metal screw on type that you see on most cubs. On the engine now, there is the prop nut and lock nut. Does the spinner take the place of the prop nut and lock nut? thanks

No, The spinner covers the prop washer and nut. Not the "spinner nut" that you are using now but the original standard nut that came with the engine. The spinner itself is held on by a couple of screws to the spinner back plate. This is true with standard plastic spinners. Aluminium spinners need an adapter to run a screw down the center of the spinner for example. Keep in mind the sclae guys will chide you for putting a spinner on a Cub as the spinner nut is more scale

Thanks for the reply. I may have used the wrong term, what i want to add is a spinner nut. It is threaded on the inside and screws onto the prop shaft. It does not fit over the prop washer like the plastic spinner on my other plane. I was wondering if this spinner nut screws against the prop washer itself.

Usually a "spinner nut" isn't made of hardened steel like the stock "prop nut" is. If you have a crankshaft long enough, you should use the stock prop nut first and use the "spinner nut" as both a "jam nut" and "spinner mounting nut". And use the standard prop washer too of course. "Spinner nuts" can be found in various lengths to make this work/fit properly.
