muffler question

Hello All, I'm assembling a Piper Cub ARF. The manual (which was translated from German) shows an OS 46 FX (which I happen to be using) with the standard muffler that comes with the OS.
Given that this engine has a cowl, can I/ should I use the "standard" muffler? Do people use a "Pitts" style muffler for the scale look, because of necessity (i.e. the cowl) or for both/neither?

You can use the standard muffler or the pitts. With that standard muffler, you will have to cut out a bunch of the cowl to clear the muffler. The pitts will generally fit inside the cowl with just the two pipes sticking out of the cowl. This looks better, but is probably noisier than the standard muffler.
