Default How far out on the high speed? (evo 46)

Hey,

Engine in question is an evo 46 or what ever that comes with the alpha 40 trainer.

Had to change the needle valve braket after someone crashed there trainer, helping them put it back togeather now. Iv got it (HS) at 2.5 turns out what would you set it to? (just need to get it so that it runs we will tune from there obvously)

thank you

Steven

Thats a good place to start. If you can't get the engine started, keep turning the needle in about 1/4 turn at a time until the engine gets started. You're starting it at low speed, so the high speed needle has only a small effect. Once you get it running, its quick to set the high speed needle where it needs to be.

it really needs to be started and tuned before he heads out to fly a repaired plane

I know that, I just don't want him to screw around for 3 hours with the high speed WAY out of adjustment if i can get a quick answerer here that will make tuning and starting the engine ready for flight take 20 seconds.

Actually the engine comes fairly close out of the box.

If you haven't touched it, leave it as is and start it up.

You'll find that the limiters will either be in the right range or you'll need to turn the HS in just slightly MORE than the limiters permit.

The Evolutions come set up from the factory to run rich.
