I had a bad LT-40 crash the other day. The wing rubber bands may have failed and the wing ripped off, and the fuselage dove at full power into a dirt road.[:@] Busted everything except for my reciever, servos (except for the one in the wing which I didn't find yet. I think I am ready for the Pulse XT 40.
I have a few questions, would a Super Tigre GS-40 ringed BB engine be a good powerplant for this model? Also what kind of prop should I use for best performance?

While I haven't flown the Pulse I have heard a lot of good about it and you should do fine with it. But I do want to comment about your receiver. If it was involved in crash of the fuselage you really should have it sent in to be checked before you fly it in another plane. In a crash that bad it's very likely that the receiver could have suffered internal damages such as cracked boards, damaged electrical components, or even cracking the crystal. These damages could make the receiver unreliable and shouldn't be used until a repair facility can check. While the receiver may appear to be good on the ground it could fail in flight from the vibrations of the engine.

Trust me here, it's definitely worth sending it in to have it checked.

As Ken said, you should be fine with the pulse. It is a very popular second plane and as long as you were feeling very comfortable on your LT-40 you will love the Pulse. From what I have heard the .40 should be ok, and since this is your second plane should be enough power for you. Although you might feel the need to upgrade your engine in the future you should be fine for now.

ya i would check all gear you plane on reuseing. and i have a pluse easy plane to fly just kept in the back of your mind that it will hold a turn unlike your trainer i ran a 45 on mine with a 11x6 apc but for the first few flight i would try a 12x4 or something around that to kept the speed down. and the pulse like just a touch of power on when you land

if you're going to send in the receiver, may as well send in the servos to get them checked. The little gears can loose a tooth that you may not catch until you disassemble it and physically look. Good luck!

I lost a second aircraft because of this.
The receiver worked fine on the ground after a crash and I installed it in my second trainer. All of a sudden, during level flight, I lost all control and the plane dived into the runway and became sawdust.
Have it checked!
