well i'm here to kick a** and chew bubble gum, and i'm all out of bubble gum!!! After taking a leave of absence since mid august after an accident with my p-47 maiden at an event i have taken a step back from the hobby and I have missed it.
My problem I believe came from overwhelming myself with penny pinching techniques. first because i'm still in my teens and I have been given a few planes. most of which needed some major surgery. I must say this was a mistake. my work room soon became crowded. After taking them out to another property where they are resting until i can catch up, and give more attention to preventing future mistakes by checking each bolt, joint and repair on sunday morning rather than at the field.
I have also decided to save some money and redirect it to better equipment rather than used. I still like my used engines, because of the challenge to get it running but as for equipment, you can't beat a receipt
I believe that this is why I lost my confidence and stopped. Now I am saving up for a futaba 2.4 7c.
I have yet to still fly, but after taking a few steps back, and waiting a bit I'm pumped to get back in the air
thanks, dave

Glad you're back, it can sometimes get frustrating.
I drilled a Cessna in last summer and swore I was done flying for good, well that lasted all of a week.
Sometimes its good to just take a break for a little while and get your head back into it, just don't stay gone too long.
Welcome back

If you are looking to save a few dollars..whether or not it's US or Canadian, you should look further into your radio choice. THere are several systems on the market now that are very reasoable and have great reputations, such as the new Airtronics RDS8000 system and the new Spektrum DX6 system. Check them all out before just jumping on a brand name.

Dave,
Welcome back!!!!! I was actually thinking about you last weekend. We were in Toledo and I thought back to meeting you last year, and was wondering how you were doing. Glad to find out you're still well and getting back into the hobby.
