Just got the last half motor mount off and was able to drive out the blind nuts. The engine mount holes are slotted from left to right, so adding a new mount should be no problem.
I do plan on getting on a buddy cord for my first few flights. I don't know what brand the tail gear is but it looks like a real nice one. By the way, the guy I bought it from said the CG was on the main wing spar, I want to keep it real conservative, I'm not yet into anything fancy when flying, figure eights, takeoffs and landings keep me very satisfied and sometimes more chalenged than I like.
I get frustrated some days and think this is just noy for me, the young studs come out and solo in two or three weeks and move on to their fancy aerobatics or 3D and I'm in to it for seven months and still am flying my trainer. Two airplanes down, two crashes and rebuils on m trainer have kept me away from the field for flying time. But when flying it is so much of a high I just love it.
I'm in the process of loading my trailer with my triner and heading out to fly, only problem is it's supposed to be over 100 here and the humidity is very high. Just came in to cool off before I leave. Luckly I have an easy up for shade or it wold be a no fly day.

I started this thread in July of 2008 and alot has changed in the world since then. I dropped out of flying around Aug of 08 and had not touched a plane until a few weeks ago. Between some health problems and loosing my job in Jan of 09, it was just not in the budget. Things are looking up so got the Something Extra out to complete the necessary rework.
Realigned the engine to remove the left thrust, straightened the landing gear as it too was canted to the left. The fuek tank had only the fuel pick up tube inside the tank, no tube turned up for the muffler and no tube turned down for the refueling line. Replaced. Installed the receiver and battery and finally yesterday was able to run the engine, [I had removed the crankcase back and carb and flushed the engine and carb with fuel] it started immediately and ran very strong, only thing left is fine tunning the engine and setting the upper and lower control limits.
I have to wait until the first of the year to fly as I let my AMA and club membership expire. WILL FLY FIRST FEW FLIGHTS ON A BUDDY CORD.
Glad to be back
