Hi. Here are some pictures of the problem I have. Installing a SuperTiger G90, the muffler doe's not extend past the bottom of the plane, would like to use this muffler so the question is Can I pass the exhaust throw the plane? If so, what type of material do I need to extend the tail pipe and do I need to heat protect the wood?
Thanks
Greg

There is a couple ways to do this. There is the easy way and a hard way. The easy one is to redrill new holes and turn the motor about 25 degrees. It will put the pipe out the cowling. Im not a super tirge man. So the hard way would be for me to tell you what parts for you buy. If you redrill hole find some wood to expoy in the old holes. Its not as hard as it sounds. it might take a hour or two to redo .

I've got the g75 and had the g 90 on my seagull yak. The only bad thing I can say about them< their mufflers suck!!!
It took a large cutout on the bottom(mounted mine sideways) of the cowl, long cutout i guess and a deflector and was good to go, minus the 1/3 of the muffler hangin out the cowl. I just ended up gettin the bisson pitts muffler and it was just 2 little stacks out the bottom after words.

http://www.jettengineering.com/ Look at the turbo Jett in cowl muffler.
A friend and I set up a Giles 202 with a .91 FX and had great results.
we were having the same problem you are and this muffler worked perfect.

Thanks for all the help. While at work I was doing some thinking
and what I decided to do was to exit out the bottom of the plane just behind the landing gear. When on my way home I stop at the LHS at talked to the owner and he said the he could order what I needed to fix my problem a long exhaust deflector. He said he did not think it would heart the performance of the engine so I ordered the part. Here is some photos of what I have so far. Take a look and see if this will be ok.
My 50mile away LHS also maid my day.
While looking in his back room trying to find parts I seen a Top Flite P-47-D Thunderbolt Gold edition kit and I ask him about it he and that he was going to take it to a trade show so I said what would you take for this kit I would like to buy it. So he made me a offer that I could not turn down. He sold me this kit for a 100.00 cash so I paid him and
all the way home.
Thanks

You need the exhaust to exit out of the fuselage. The way you have it now your plane will be filled with oil. I would find a 3"-4" piece of aluminum tubing that fit snugly into your silicon exhaust pipe to extend it out of the fuselage a couple of inches.

The build seems to be going well. It seems you are trying to avoid butchering the cowl and that is a great idea. However, ensure you have adequate airflow through your cowl to cool the engine or you will be having dead stick after dead stick fideling with the tuning and scratching your head in frustration trying to figure out why it keeps dieing.

Looking good on the build![sm=thumbs_up.gif] I have another suggestion if you don't mind. It seems you are using the adjustable servo arms on your ailerons, I would be concerned with there strength in this application. If you need longer arms then what is available in the servo package you can purchase Hitec heavy duty long arms in a package for just a few dollars.
