Hi
Have just bought a Flair Baronette kit. This is the first model i have built from scratch, all others i have biult have been ARTF kits apart form a shuttle plus helicopter.
The instructions so far are a bit sketchy, but i suppose they are assuming that you have a bit of experience. The plans are fairly easy to get my head round so far (as of yet!!!! ) I was wondering has anyone built one of these or seen one fly - and what do you think.
ANY BUILDING TIPS?? - Go easy on me i'm a total rookie to this building stuff.
Also, what is the best glue to use on balsa. I have both 30 minute epoxy and a glue i was recommeded at the model shop - 'FLAIR Aliphatic modellers glue' - any preferences?
Cheers
Gareth.

My Feedback: (13)
I my self use thick and thin CA (cyanacrylic (spelling)) and 30 min epoxy for things such as joining wings, landing gear blocks, attaching tial feathers, and where ever i think I need the extra holding power.
I've never built the plane you are building so I can't help you out there.

Ok thanks, think i will use a bit of both. Gives me a piece of mind when using the epoxy (almost need a damned blow torch to seperate parts). It's never good when wings start flailing apart after take off

Epoxy is great for those joints where you need some real strength and resilience (joining fins to stabilisers/fuselages, joining wing halves at the root etc.) There's definitely a place for CA glues too though - they're great for those jobs where a quick set-up time is useful, and of course essential for those 'out in the field' quick repairs
