RE: radio install
Here is the email he sent me:
He basically wants opinions on how it looks or if he should change anything.
This is my first radio install (front landing gear not connected) take a look and let me know if you see anything wrong. I built a small balsa box lined it with foam and stuck the recover in it and epoxy it to floor behind the landing gear. battery is padded and under fuel tank

RE: radio install
I'm a little concerned about the fuel tank.
It does not appear to be secured from fore/aft movement.
The rest looks great.
Good Luck,

RE: radio install
To be absolutely safe he should wedge a scrap piece of 1/4"sq balsa stick behind the fuel tank to prevent it from shifting back. Do NOT glue it in, only shove it in pace in case you have to remove the tank.

WZAk:May or may not be any problem but as shown one servo, rudder is not in neutral. This could be due to your Tx not being in neutral when pic taken. If however Tx is neutral and servo is not this should be attended to. Also I personally prefer my control rods to be connected to hole on servo the furthest out on arm. This requires less force by servo ( less voltage as well ) to operate control surface. Depending on the radio you use throw can be achieved with TX end point settings. As stated tank has to be held in place Nice neat looking job though

RE: radio install
fuel tank sounds good but be aware that if any fuel residue gets on tape the tape will loose its stickiness. tanks usually will not leak for the first year but the bung hole can get loose after awhile and allow small amount of fuel to leak. this is also a good reason to fuel proof the tank compartment.

In picture 3 the antenna wire is almost laying against the pushrod housing. It should be re-routed and taped against the sidewall.
Also in pucture 3 is the use of a metal core bread tie to tie the servo wires together. Either leave the wires loose, use a wiring tie strap, or tape them together.
Picture 4. The steering rod is coming out the top of the firewall instead of the bottom. This is going to pose a serious problem when it comes time to install the nose gear.
Sometinng else you might want to consider doing. Cut a section of 1/4 inch triangle balsa and glue onto the top of both sides of the servo tray.

I would change the throttle rod a little so that the end of the rod is lined up with the direction of travel. You can make the bends out of metal 2-56 rod and screw the piece into the plastic rods you are using. You want to make sure the junction between the two is inside the guide tube, far enough that it doesn't come out with servo movement. Notice how the ends of all the other rods are parallel to the airframe.
But truthfully I don't know how much it matters, if any.
