Took it out again. The first take off was a little touchy. I moved the EI battery up about 5 or 6 inches. it flew a little better. I found that it stalls at a faster speed then any of my other planes. After learning that it seemed to fly great. Its still a little tail heavy but I like it where its at for 3D flying. The second take off was much better, ran it down the runway and it basicly took off on its own and much more stable. I think I was tring to over fly it while taking off. After three flights today I'm getting the feel for how its going to fly and Its a blast. thanks for all the help. James

Laser isn't really meant to be a true 3D plane. At least not the full scale version.

A year or so back, Tower closed out the Lanier Laser 200 1/4 scale kit for a price I couldn't turn down. $98.99 with shipping. I'm even going to build it one of these days. I'ts number three in the Que now.

Well now Joe, that's right neighborly of you. I'll bet you just happen to have an engine that would fit it and you could kind of break it in for me too.
If I could use it as an excuse to get back to Burlington again, I would send it out. The wife just isn't going to buy that though. I left my true love up in your neighborhood, in Shelburne, when I moved out here to California in 1985, I still dream of her now and then. Guess I should tell you though that she was a 26' Islander sail boat.

I love Shelburne, and if I stay here I will certainly end up there.
And yes, I will be happy to break in, trim out, compete with (did I say that out loud?) your plane.

Joe, try this thought on. 26ft sail boat, three float planes. Gally for eating, big cooler for beer, bunks to sleep in. Man, you could sail and fly for a couple weeks without touching shore. If the wind was up, you sailed, if it was calm you would fly. Couldn't get much better than that.

Joe, Don has a number of plane kits under his bed!!! I wonder what he is thinking about before he falls asleep??
One of these days he may get around to building one of them instead of dreaming about them. I may have to mention this to his wife, maybe then he will be forced to sell me that Laser for cost??
Besides, it's not a great first time build either!! That's a lot of building and they have a lot of plastic parts in there, maybe I should build it and do all the testing instead of Joe?? I'm a lot closer then he is, you could even come out and get it when I'm finished with the testing?? It could happen!!!

Gene, you are right about the kits. I kind of got sidetracked from the 4*60 bash I was planning. Here is my hard plan right now.
I'm going to get my UPP ( unknown Pattern Plane) flying in the next week if the engine will allow me. Photo
I'm going to get the ailerons straightened out on my Rupert's Dad rebuild and re-maiden it.
I'm going to get my Super Aeromastr Air ready. That includes re hinging the ailerons, they didn't turn out well. I plan to have this one ready to fly for our funfly day on May 23rd.
Then comes the toss up. I've got the Laser 200 Kit, no engine if the UPP works OK. I've got a 1/3 scale Extra 230, 1986 vintage kit and I've just picked up a Tartan 77 twin for power for that one. Then my latest, a ASM P-61 and a pair of fresh Magnum 52 four strokes to go on it. Of course, the 4*60 Bash, a Quicke 500 that needs a new wing, a CG super Chipmunk, and a few others. Maybe I should give up sleeping
Sure wish I had jumped into the swamp 20 years back, to think of all the money I lost on my gemstone store and the time I spent on it. I could have a real hanger full of good stuff by now.

I got my Seagull Laser about 6 months ago, its the ARF. I got it NIB, The guy had it laying around and said he would never get to it so he made me a heck of a deal. I've seen a lot of video on youtube of Lasers doing a lot of 3D stuff. I know it will hover nicely

Don, I don't do repairs. {Very Often!!} but after todays dumb thumbs I have room in my hanger for maybe a 260?? I also have the engine and servos!!
I just have one more coat of poly U and some sanding then I have to paint my Daddy Rabbit. Shouldn't be too long to maiden day if I can come up with the paint money. Because the DR is so close to being a Kaos do I really want to repair my Kaos?? I have several planes in line for repairs but I would rather build something new. Did I mention to you I haven't got an Extra 260 any longer??
Just food for thought.
