Hi,
I am about to install my first throttle cable.
I have always used a wire in the past.
Is there anything special I need to know or do?
Do I solder the ends to revent unraveling?
Thanks,

I always Solder on my threaded end that will hold the ball link set up on the carb first.
Then i Mark the length i need to the servo.
Mark it and solder that end abit past what i need. Then i cut the remainder off with a dremel.
Ive never had a problem with the flex cable unraveling by doing this.

Make sure you tie down the tube that the cable is in so that it moves the cable instead of bowing it. Probably not a big problem on a carb since it doesn't have much resistance. I had a problem with it bowing a lot on my float plane rudder.

I only use cables for all my throttle and steering applications. And I use the EZ Connectors for both throttle arm and servo ends

This cable is using EZ Connectors on both ends.
Both control arms are plastic.
I'm not worried about RFI.
I am worried about unravelling.
The tube seems pretty secure but will watch for problems here.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi
I like the braided cables too. Solder the area you wish to cut BEFORE cutting, I use a cut off wheel in the dremmel. no fraying at all. The smoother the cable or any control rod, wire, etc, moves the less drain on the battery you'll have.
