The motor probably started running backwards. Do you feel wind in FRONT of the plane? If this is so, stop and restart.
You can, sometimes, just jiggle the throttle stick and she will turn around and run the right way, without re-starting.

They often run backwards at first due to a flooded carb. regards, Rich

Definitely sounds like it might be running backward. A lot of times these engines come set very rich from the factory. Couple that with over priming the engine and it isn't hard to get one to cough when starting and spin the wrong way. You may also have the prop on backward; this could still provide a little thrust just not as much.

You may want to hook up with a club in your area and find someone there to help out too.

Bob, I hope you're getting help and not trying to fly this plane on your own.

please bob like minnflyer said do not try to fly this plane by yourself if you have never flown before. With being a newbie and the planes first flight without being trimmed by someone who knows what they are doing will be a large overload to you trying to figure out what is happening and how to control it. Couple this with the fact that you can not pull over to the side or hit a pause button to figure out what you are doing or to get reorientated on a plane that is heading toward you will cause all sorts of money problems to occur. Those problems are from mundane like needing a new prop then escalting up to you need a new airplane and maybe going beyond to you just hit someones car. I am not saying you can not learn to fly alone but that it might be cheaper in the long run and more fun instead of the 30 sec flight followed by the one week repair.

As previously stated... Get some help from an experienced flyer.
I sacrificed my first plane to the god of pride. Got help. Been enjoying the sport for 15 years.

Lol!

Yeah the god of pride, got me too.

He destroyed several electric helis, before I decided to look into joining a club, and taking things one step at a time.

Best thing I did.

One of the BEST things about RC flying is the tradition of helping the new guy. Later when he is experieced he helps the new guy. Saves a lot of airplanes[8D]

Yep, that "blowing wind forward" can mess up a nice party.

In the RC toy airplane game, at some time or another, everyone gets a share of dum-dum, which will mess up the party, so do not despair, you're not alone.

Not really. If the engine is running backward, it might run, and it might even run for an extended period of time, but it will never come close to running anywhere near its peak performance.

If the prop were on backward, it would still blow air back, just not very well
