I'm 31 and have been in the hobby about 18 months. I had a false start when I was about 16, but because I didn't have anyone to train me and poor skills, I gave up on flying them. Now that I have the mechanics down, I am completely hooked. I have 9 planes inthe fleet now and always looking for more.

I'm 54, and have been flying rc on and off since 1968 (a midwest LiL'T sailplane modified to two channels and a powerpod). I've been flying at least once a month since 1994 and have been teaching RC students every Thursday night (weather permitting) since 1995.

I started flying in 1979 at 24, after having a car accident that left me paralized from the chest down. My father had always been involved with modeling as I was growing up thought after I'd built my 3rd static model car kit (Tamiya F1 cars) that "maybe we ought to build something you can do something with after you've built it." So for Christmas we got Kadets and Futaba radios...
I flew until 1995, when a crash involving a 1/3 sc Spacewalker re-kitted itself on the 2nd flight...I went racing RC cars until last year when my Dad bought me a new 2.4G radio.
Now I'm 54, and enjoying every flight.

I started in 1947 stick built and solid kits. Flew controline through the 50's and 60's, built several r/c sets and planes in the fifties, about 1961 r/c sunk in and I haven't looked back. All because my dad built models and took me to the airport when I was very young, god bless him.
I lived only to fly and got my private ticket in the seventies only to find out flying real planes bored me to death. Now it's quarter scale and turbine a/c. I,m 68 years young. scratch building is my biggest pleasure.

57 today.
Been modelling since 1961.
1st model was a Veron Bee Bug.
'Never really had any success with the dozens of models I made as a kid. Then I learned to fly full size.
Then in 1982 started RC again and joined a club.
Teenage aspirational model was a Goldberg Senior Falcon with Sprengbrook propo and an Enya 61.
I've got 3 Senior Falcons, 3 Falcon 56's and several Enyas, but no Sprengbrook gear!!

Most would have no idea who Spreng or Brook were.
Doug Spreng more or less invented the entire digital proportional radio concept back in 1962.

But I actually had to make do with a MacGregor Galloping Ghost set, a "Supermac" regenerative receiver, Rand LR3 and DEAC cells. It was good for only 2 x 5 minute flights before the cells discharged to the point where it wouldn't drive the throttle bit of the servo and just stalled in the "Full up, Full right" position. Groovy! So ended my "Aviette Senator".
The only thing I ever got to work with that set was a Veron Impala with a power pod containing an ME Heron diesel. No throttle you see.
My demented sheepdog one day went and herded that model upon landing, and, it being unresponsive, the dog bit the recalcitrant fuselage.
Collie 1, Impala 0. Sigh!
etc

49...RC since I was about 24 years of age. Like to watch FF, esp. indoor stuff.
Can't quit. Tried to once, after I lost my favourite aeroplane. Relapsed after a few weeks. Won't ever try that again. Fly 'til I die.

I'll be 27 next month.
I started all this when I was in my early teens. I still have my trainer, even though the engine is seized up (working on that), and I never learned how to land.
I started trying to get my equipment going again this summer now that I finally have room to work (just bought a house).I've had too much going on for the last 10 years to play, but now I need something to relax with, since we just had kid #2. I'd like to get my trainer running again, get comfortable with that, then build a seaplane.

38. I started in plastic models pre-teen, model rockets all through my teens, and bought my first R/C kit (Super Sportster 20) when I joined the Air Force in 1989. Been spending time and money on them ever since

39. I started flying when I was 14, then was out of the hobby for a little while after leaving school. I got some bad advice when I started, so it took longer than it should have to get started. Partly as a result of that, I do a lot of flight instruction now. I also fly combat, dabble in IMAC a bit, have a T-Rex, fly some warbirds and multi-engine as well. I keep thinking I need to try pylon and get a glider/slope plane (besides the Easy Star) as well.
