And everyone says O.S. is expensive.
As for liner peel, this only affects those pilots who stand in the pit's and tune their engine until the tank is empty, then refuel and start the process over again.

Oh, I did not know that, so when the liner starts to peal then people go to electric instead? [X(]

That happened some years ago with one run of liners. They studied the problem in depth, beyond why the plating failed in that one run. They improved the process, actually changed the accepted plating process to other, better suited materials.
They sell about a quarter of a million engines yearly. The peeling was with one run of liners, some years back. The probability of encountering a peeling liner is quite small. So far, the probability of even seeing someone else encounter one peel has been zero for many, many modelers. Those odds are around zero now and getting smaller every day.

Some know very well about other brands. For many, that knowledge coupled with their OS experience is why they buy OS.

If you do a search in the Glow engines forum, you will find MANY instances of peeling/flaking Nickle liners...
FAR from being just ONE run of engines...
And contrary to the beliefs of a few of the posters in this thread, they are not all owned or caused by people who don't know how to tune an engine!
The peeling goes back to the 80's and happened to MANY ducted fan engines...the .77's and .91's...long before the well known .46FX debacle...
FP's, FX's AX's etc. have all had it happen...believe it or not.
How about the crummy bearings...nobody wants to mention that?
O.S. makes a decent engine, but they are far from the end-all / be-all...give me a Webra or Enya before an O.S.

How come this never happens to me? There just isn't much you can say bad about O.S. engines other than the price. The two I have run great. Both .46's, an FX and an AX.

My very first engine was an OS 25 that I bought back in the late 80s. It was the best running engine I've owned. It sat unused in my garage since 1991. This January I cleaned it up, hooked it to a tank and guess what? It fired up on the first try. Sadly I sold it on Ebay a few months ago for $30. Should have kept it.

Nope. I just wish I could have bought 3 for $8.
