Default CA hinges on a P-51

<span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial; mso-ansi-language: EN-US">wel, Ifinally got my Top Flite P 51 and started the construction fun... Itook a look into Minn's article about CAhinges and Ifollowed all the instructions but one of the ailerons didn't pass the pull test and came off, the funny thing is that Imade the same steps on both ailerons and the other one seems to be ok since I tried to pull it very hard and nothing happened... now, my question would be how can Ifix this problem? The hinges slots are pretty big and Ithink Ican insert another hinge just in the same slot but just a little aside from the place Iglued the first one, could this work? I'm not good at making slots so Iwould like to avoid making another slot for every hinge.. the other thing is that in the good aileron there is a gap of about 2 1/2 mm between the aileron and the wing, is this gap to much? chould Iconsider cutting this other aileron and put robart hinges on both of them?
FYIIused the same CA glue and the same hinges sheet for both ailerons so Idon't think the problem could be the glue or the hinges quality.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!<o></o></span></p>

I would remove them all and use Robarts. You COULD only replace the one side, but as long as you're at it, you might as well do both.

Correct. The pores inthe wood are sealed now and thin CA won't take very well.

I switched all my hinges to robarts on my TF P51 when I broke an elevator hinge. Buy the robart jig tool, makes it very easy and some pacer hinge glue and you will be very happy with the result. Melt some Vaseline and dip the hinge pin before gluing.

I just smear a little Vaseline right on the hinge pin with a toothpick and then heat it with a lighter so it melts right in
