Hello, newby here.
As one of my xmas presents i got a flycamone2, and i havent been able to get the software to download!
Ive gone to numerous websites, and tried to download it. i think i have the special one with the "a" or the weird letter on the back of the lense head.
when i try to download it i get pretty far then this pops up "device can not be intialized"
is there a number i can call?
all the software ive found is like a reinstall?
thanks!

There is a little "instruction paper" that is very hard to read. On it is a URL for downloading the software. Get out your magnifingy glass and have a look. I got one a couple years back and haven't really used it yet. Idid download some software for it tha seemed to work. That was a couple years back. They have a Flycam 3 out now, at least in Europe. Try this URL and see is it works WWW.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk maybe they have a link to the current software for #2

I went through a bit of a problem when I first got the camera. One poorly documented feature is the configuration of the camera before inserting the USB cable. Unlike most USB devices that auto-ID when inserted, one must configure the FlyCamOne 2 menu to PC for proper identification by the computer.
If your battery is too low for the menu access, just plug in the USB cable for a while to charge. It appears to charge fine without first setting up the menu to PC.
Have fun, it is a great little camera.

Once you have taken videos on your FlyCamOne2, you can do one of two things...
- Leave the SD card inserted, and connect the FlyCamOne2 to the computer. Bring up their file transfer software and copy down your videos.
- Remove the SD card and instead insert it to an SD card reader ( this is what I do ). I find this to be MUCH faster than using their USB software.
You can drag and drop the videos from the SD card onto a folder on your computer.
Windows built in video editing software does a good job of dealing with the video files, and is even capable of doing something that is not easy to do... namely invert the direction or orientation of the video.
Let's say you took the video, upside down according to the computer.
Windows Movie Maker will open each frame, flip them over, then write out the stream with audio to a new file, resulting in a properly oriented video.
Taking the video upside down, is all too easy to do with the FlyCamOne2, so Movie Maker solves that problem.
